The greatest Christian speaker of our time is Ravi Zacharias. Check out his podcast called Just Thinking on Oneplace.com.

If you are interested in Apologetics then William Lane Craig's Reasonable Faith Podcast is the best. See his website at http://www.reasonablefaith.org/site/PageServer

Some of the best Bible expositors are Tommy Nelson's Denton Bible Church podcast, Chuck Swindoll's Insight for Living podcast, and Alister Begg's Truth for Life podcasts. All these men do a great job bringing the ancient text of the Bible to our day to day life.

More cutting edge, younger Pastors doing a great job preaching the Word are Mark Driscoll's Mars Hill Church podcasts and Matt Chandler's The Village Church podcasts.

Best Study Bibles:

To Top

ESV Study Bible: a one stop shop of the some of the best biblical scholarship out there. Introductions to each biblical book, great commentary and study notes, and great articles throughout.

NIV Applicational Study Bible: More devotional and for application for the believer's life. Very good Study Bible.

Online Commentaries on the Old Testament and New Testament:

John Calvin wrote a commentary on just about every book in the Bible except for Revelation and a few OT books. His insights are priceless! http://www.ccel.org/ccel/calvin/commentaries.i.html

Charles Spurgeon did not write commentaries on books of the Bible (except for the Psalms, see on website Treasury of David), but you can click here for an index of  Scripture he preached sermons on. His sermons will take into the Holy of holies and are infinitely better than most modern commentaries out there! http://www.spurgeon.org/index/rindex.htm

http://www.ccel.org/index/author Scroll down and you can find Augustine’s commentaries on the Gospels, one exclusively devoted to John and 1 John, and on the Psalms. Augustine is the greatest theologian, commentator, etc. of Church history. Not reading Augustine is like dying without being saved.

http://www.ccel.org/index/author Scroll down and you can find John Chrysostom’s commentaries on Matthew, John, Acts, Paul’s letters and Hebrews. John Chrysostom is known as the greatest preacher of all of church history (next to Spurgeon) and all of these commentaries were actually preached as sermons first. He was called “golden-mouth” for a reason.

Thomas Aquinas wrote commentaries on the Psalms, Job, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Matthew, John, Paul’s Letters, and Hebrews. After Augustine, probably the greatest theologian of church history and his commentaries are some of the best I have ever read! http://dhspriory.org/thomas/

Martin Luther wrote a commentary on the Sermon on the Mount, Romans and Galatians. His commentary on Galatians is known as the best in church history. http://www.godrules.net/library/luther/luther.htm

Matthew Henry wrote a commentary on the entire Bible (the first to do this in Church history!).   http://www.ccel.org/ccel/henry/mhc.i.html

John Wesley wrote brief notes on every book of the Bible. Some of these notes are gems! http://www.ccel.org/ccel/wesley/notes.toc.html

One of the best modern commentators that go in depth, but is short and concise is William Barclay’s commentaries on all the books of the New Testament. They have all his commentaries at Mardels reasonably priced. THe NIV Applicational Commentaries for both the OT and the NT are also very good and readable. They are also reasonable priced at Mardels.
